Finger Lakes Wine Country named 2001 Odyssey Award Winner

Finger Lakes Wine Country has been named the 2001 Odyssey Domestic Travel Marketing Award Winner by the Travel Industry Association of America (TIA).
The newly-formed destination marketing organization won the award for its development of an integrated marketing campaign to create a regional branding strategy.

The campaign was so successful that, according to Longwoods International, it generated an unexpected $11.4 million in tourism revenue directly attributable to the campaign in year one. This represents an impressive $21 return for every dollar invested.

Finger Lakes Wine Country represents a number of attractions and private and public sector interests in the Chemung, Schuyler, and Steuben County areas of New York.

TIA's Odyssey Awards annually recognize the exceptional achievements of its members who have successfully journeyed to a higher level of excellence and accomplishments.

Winners of the Domestic Travel Marketing category must demonstrate originality, creativity, effectiveness and results in marketing, promotion, and/or public relations efforts that target domestic audiences and encourage travel within the U.S. and its territories.

The winning organizations will be honored at a gala awards banquet on Tuesday, October 2, 2001, during TIA's Marketing Outlook Forum at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia.
