The numbers are in: Columbus' travel and tourism industry continues to grow

The mid-year 2017 State of the Industry Report is out and with the help of the 195 conventions, sporting events and meetings that took place from April to June alone in Columbus, the number of travelers to the area increased from the same period last year.

'As more visitors come to our destination for a meeting, convention, sporting event or leisure trip, our community's goal is to continually exceed their expectations,' Experience Columbus President and CEO Brian Ross said in the report.

'We're proud of the work we've done to ensure a positive visitor experience."

Ross cited a J.D. Power ranking that said Columbus was 'Highest in Visitor Satisfaction in the Midwest' and a Longwoods International report, which indicated more than 68 percent of visitors are "very satisfied" with their overall trip experience in Columbus.
