Tourism pumped $505M into Trumbull economy

WARREN — The tourism industry in Trumbull County generated $25 million more in sales for area businesses last year than it did in 2013, according to a recently released state study.

The total sales amount, $505 million in 2015, can be attributed to direct, indirect and induced sales.

The county tourism bureau recently participated in an integrated consumer-based research study organized by the Ohio Department of Development's Tourism Division. Longwoods International in Toronto, Canada, and Tourism Economics from Wayne, Pa., conducted the study that included more than 50 county and city destination marketing organizations, convention and visitor bureaus, and economic development boards.
