“The impact of the Iran war and higher gas prices continues to ripple through the travel economy,” said Amir Eylon, President and CEO of Longwoods International.  “But even with these major disruptions, 90% of American travelers still plan to travel in the next six months.”

Twenty-five percent of travelers say that the war in Iran makes them less likely to travel internationally.  Among those who reported the war is influencing their international travel,

39% will postpone their international trips, 37% will replace an international trip with a domestic one, up from 31% in April, and 19% will cancel their international travel.

The survey, supported by Miles Partnership, was fielded May 5-7, 2026, using a national sample randomly drawn from a consumer panel of 1,000 adults, ages 18 and over.  Quotas were used to match Census targets for age, gender, and region to make the survey representative of the U.S. population.
