American Travel Sentiment Study – Wave 86
Summer and Fall Travel Planning is Full Speed Ahead

According to the latest Longwoods International tracking study of American travelers, 94% of them plan to travel in the next six months, the highest percentage in 2024. And those with concerns that their finances would impact their upcoming travel plans dropped from 29% in May to 23% in June, the lowest percentage of the year.
“Travelers are anxious to be out on the road and in the skies, and they have made travel a spending priority,” said Amir Eylon, President and CEO of Longwoods International. “If current patterns continue, 2024 will be a very good year for the travel and tourism industry.”
Shifting attitudes about electric vehicles surfaced in this most recent research, with 13% of travelers using an EV on an overnight trip in the last six months, down from 20% last August. And 26% of travelers reported they are likely to use an electric vehicle on their next trip, down from 37% in April of 2023.
The survey, supported by Miles Partnership, was fielded June 12, 2024 using a national sample randomly drawn from a consumer panel of 1,000 adults, ages 18 and over. Quotas were used to match Census targets for age, gender, and region to make the survey representative of the U. S. population.
